TEACHING SOUND VIDEO MUSIC RECORDING PHOTO BIO HOME

I'm teaching both graduate and postgraduate students (master degree program) at the Beijing Film Academy. My subjects are music production and sound design.

These are the syllabi to my current courses (winter 2009/2010):

Graduate students (bachelor degree):
Music recording level one
Music recording level three
Synthesis level one - this is a course not for music recording students but for film sound students.

Postgraduate students (master degree):Sound Design with Puredata.

-----------Course notes-------------

June 10th 2010 - Wiimote for Pd

This is a Quicktime export of my class notes. Actually it's a summary where I tried to include information that I went through with the students projecting the applications rather than a slide show.
The Quicktime movie is 'manual advance', meaning you click and the slideshow advances in a way that is suitable for learning and reviewing. I can only create .mov file type movies with manual advance - please download it for viewing.

January 1st 2010 - FFT in Pd

I uploaded my course files of yesterday's course - introduction to FFT in Puredata.
There is a manual advance quicktime movie of my course notes and the folder of example patches and files. The patches are of various origins, most of them are from Miller's example patches. I only changed the visual arrangement of those patches and placed sound files that I often use during my course.
Note that this type of manual advance movie only works with Quicktime, OS X or Win. I haven't tested how downloaded patches locate example sound files so bear with me if the patch doesn't find it - just navigate manually.
Here is a short instruction how to install externals under OS X - some of the students were not sure how to do it. And because Pd-extended comes with a lot of externals they never did it before.

Some material about and by my students is here (under construction).
